Summer in the Nation’s capital is packed with activities for singles, families, and friends just looking to enjoy time outside in one of the most beautiful cities.

JAZZ IN THE GARDEN

A free concert series taking place every Friday in D.C.’s iconic Sculpture Garden, Jazz in the Garden is a city staple and must-do for visitors and residents alike. Featuring jazz artists performing a variety of styles including traditional New Orleans jazz, blues, swing and funk, Jazz in the Garden is a great event to grab a few friends after work and enjoy art, music, and each other’s company with sangria in hand.

FRIDAY NIGHT CONCERTS AT YARDS PARK

Every Friday night this summer through August 24th, come enjoy fantastic bands, delicious food, and a river view at the city’s blossoming Capitol Riverfront. Perfect for the whole family, date night, or a leisurely evening along the water, this concert series at Yards Park is sure to please. Fridays are well spent taking in the music and scenery over a drink. Feel free to then head to one of the top-rated new restaurants, all just a 5-minute walk away, including Osteria Morini, Whaley’s, Chloe, and District Winery.

SUMMER RESTAURANT WEEK

Earnings its reputation as an increasingly foodie-friendly city, D.C. has grown to offer quite the restaurant scene and what better way to get out and enjoy all it has to offer than during Summer Restaurant Week. From August 13-19, D.C.’s best restaurants offer unbeatable prix-fixe menus that will have foodies and deal hunters alike swooning. From the Michelin-starred Sushi Taro, to the historic and refined 1789 Restaurant in Georgetown, and many more at neighborhoods in between, don’t forget to book a table during this can’t miss week of amazing dishes and deals!

17TH STREET FESTIVAL

Located in the heart of the city in Dupont Circle, the 17th Street Festival offers much to do during its day-long event on August 25. Live music, more than 100 vendors, a kids zone, and 50+ artists displaying fine art, jewelry, crafts, and more will line 17th Street. While entry is free, a $10 donation wristband will help support the funding of the event and grant access to additional discounts at nearby participating restaurants during the festival.

TRUCKEROO

A monthly festival held at The Bullpen in D.C.’s Navy Yard, Truckeroo is a world famous food truck gathering showcasing the hottest food trucks in the area. Held April through October, there is no better time than the summer to get out and sample offerings from Red Hook Lobster Pound, DC Slices, Millie’s coastal fare, and more. Bring the whole family to enjoy live music, cold drinks, games and some of the city’s best food this summer!
